What you would check before you install anything.

• Agents

  Agents run on the subscription you already pay for.

  Claude Code, on your Mac. Dark Matter runs no agents in the cloud and bills no model spend. The Studio’s assistant uses an Anthropic API key you add, kept in the macOS keychain.

• Your code

  Code and transcripts stay on your Mac.

  Each agent works in its own branch checkout beside your clone, never inside it. Tool output, transcripts and terminal recordings never leave your Mac.

• The index

  Only the index syncs.

  Task status, step times, file paths, commit hashes and costs sync so your team sees one board. Every event is signed and kept, and history is never rewritten.
